She Ran

You ran. You saw all our fears and their stench was so foul that you ran with your tail tucked between your legs. How cowardly - how could you? When you promised me the words "I love you" I was stupid enough to believe you - to believe it meant something beautiful, not something terrifying and impermanent, something cruel and timidly elegant.

I just can't believe how many times you so readily you abandoned me.
